Written by Tradeshow Booth Guy on May 31, 2012 – 3:06 pm -In the past few years the wine world has finally discovered that women drinkers make up nearly 60 percent of U.S. wine consumer.
Which is why there are so many companies are starting up lines of wines for chicks. Most are targeting women 21 to 34, but their marketing efforts often treat this audience as if it had no more sophistication than a bevy of sorority sisters on spring break – Nice call from the tradeshow booth of life.
After blind tasting a few “chick” wines, Elin McCoy writes, “For the $10 to $15 that most of these cutsey bottling go for, drinkers seeking an emotional connection with what they swill in their glass could have real wine made by real people — think rieslings, proseccos, roses, Beaujolais, Argentinean torrontes and malbecs — you know, the kind of vino even guys like.”

The Pope’s Butler is guilty claims the Vatican Police force – Tradeshow booth of life
Written by Tradeshow Booth Guy on May 29, 2012 – 2:37 pm -According to the Vatican police force, the pope’s butler is responsible for the recent leaks of personal papal correspondence that shed unwanted light on powerful struggles and alleged corruption within the Vatican.
The scandal that the Italian press has called VatiLeaks burst into the open on Friday with the arrest by Vatican gendarmes of a man, identified as Paolo Gabriele, the pope’s butler, who the Vatican said was in possession of confidential documents and is suspected of leaking private letters. Interesting stuff for the tradeshow booth of life.
The arrest follows the ouster of the president of the Vatican Bank, Ettore Gotti Tedeschi, amid conflicts over how to bring the secretive institution in line with international banking standards and the publication of a sensational book that reveals clashes over the management at the Vatican bank and allegations of corruption and cronyism.
Not everyone believes Gabriele is guilty. Paolo Rodari, a Vatican expert for the Italian daily Il Foglio writes, “His arrest seems more the Vatican’s desire to find a scapegoat.”

Get your Cheap Eats at the Local Strip Mall # tradeshow booth of life
Written by Tradeshow Booth Guy on May 24, 2012 – 2:56 pm -According to Tyler Cowen, an economist who teaches at George Mason University, when it comes to getting the best value for the dining dollar, foodies should pass on nearly every restaurant located in hip urban neighborhoods. Instead, Cowen recommends heading to restaurants that share parking lots with dollar stores, supermarkets, and liquor stores. What we’re talking about is the scintillating dining destination known as the suburban strip mall.
Cowen’s reasoning is that, compared to restaurants in high-rent districts, strip mall eateries have low overhead, so they can keep menu prices down and experiment with foods and ingredients without constantly having to worry it won’t be able to pay the bills.
